About my practice:
My name is Anna Fernandez. I am a certified nurse midwife, herbalist, nurse and mother (among other things :). My goal is to provide evidence based care and to empower women as partners in health care, support the healing processes, promote health, healing, and wellness and help fill the gaps in chronic care that currently exist in the dominant health care system. I provide well woman/person care and GYN care to my community- the Ann Arbor, Michigan area and beyond. In situations that don't require an in person meeting, I provide virtual consultation which can take place from anywhere. I am passionate about empowering my patients to work with the foundations of true wellness through diet, lifestyle, herbal medicine, pharmaceuticals when needed and a customized approach to finding health, peace and satisfaction in their lives.
First visits are an hour long and follow ups are scheduled for 30 minutes and longer if needed.

- I work with people from menarche to menopause providing:
- Well woman exams- both adult and adolescent
- Gentle and respectful annual or gynecological exams including pap smears for GYN concerns
- Basic primary care for individuals from adolescence throughout the lifespan
- Access to labs, prescriptive medicines and referrals for appropriate follow up
- Initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Midwifery care that includes health promotion, disease prevention, risk assessment and management, and individualized wellness education and counseling

I am working on getting covered by insurance, including medicaid but for now I charge a fee and can provide receipts and codes for you to submit to your insurance company.
