They provide information and resources that promote the local midwife as welll as midwifery care accross the country. Midwifery Today A website full of articles, studies, information and gifts pertaining to pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Midwives Alliance of North America A website loaded with information about midwives and hombirth accross the country. North American Registry of Midwives is an international certification agency whose mission is to establish and administer certification for the credential "Certified Professional Midwife" (CPM). ICAN The International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc (ICAN) was formed to support women in their journey towards understanding the risks of cesarean section and with the purpose of helping them have healthy births and healthy lives after undergoing the surgery that changed them. Also a great resource for Vaginal Birth after Cesarean. Pushed Birth a great website by the author of "Pushed- The Painful Truth About Childbirth and Modern Maternity Care" by Jennifer Block. Maine Midwives and Midwifery and Doula Related Sites Midwives of Maine A great resource for women and families in Maine looking for a Midwife or contemplating homebirth. Christina Kennedy -Childbirth Educator in the Augusta/ Waterville area. Christina has a great website with lots of resouces for parents and women in the childbearing year. Michigan Midwives and Midwifery and Doula Related Sites Since I used to live and attend births in Michigan, I wanted to reccommend some great Michigan Midwives, Doulas and Resources. Center for the Childbearing Year Located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Center for the Childbearing Year is a great resource for pregnant women and families. They offer great classes including Childbirth Education and Doula Training Programs. Caryn Simon Caryn is a Doula, Herbalist and specialist in natural building. She resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Please check out her fun website! Mother's Love Midwifery Adarsa Antares provides homebirth services in the Ann Arbor area. Riverside Midwifery Amanda Topping is an amazing midwife who catches babies in the Ann Arbor/ Detroit Michigan area. I have had the great opportunity of training with her.
