Mother Bloom BotanicalsHerbs for the Childbearing Year

Pregnancy, Birth and Lactation are part of nature’s story and all are a healthy state of being. Herbs are not necessarily needed for every pregnant woman. Using herbs for their nutrition during the childbearing year, is a wonderful way to utilize our herbal allies during this cycle of life and ensure that both mom and baby are getting optimal nutrition which can prevent complications in the short term as well as in the long term.  Many herbs can be used safely for specific complaints as well, from increasing fertility to decreasing blood pressure, to increasing milk supply.

Every woman's body is unique. The recommendations listed here are general and may not be appropriate for all situations. When in doubt, please consult a health care provider before using herbs during pregnancy or when taking medication.

If you are a midwife or doula and would like to mix and match herbal products (from this page, tinctures or teas page) for your birth bag, please contact Anna for a discounted rate.
