About Mother Bloom Botanicals

Mother Bloom Botanicals is located on 11 acres on the beautiful Blue Hill Peninsula on the coast of Maine. Previously located in the Pacific Northwest, Mother Bloom Botanicals has migrated to the opposite coast and continues to offer a wide variety of the highest quality herbs and herbal products.

Mother Bloom Botanicals is a small, family run business. We grow or wildcraft the majority of the herbs used in our products. Our farm includes a stream, a pond, fields as well as woods, all of which allows us to grow a wide variety of herbs including wetland herbs, shade loving herbs, forest dwelling herbs and garden herbs.

Herbs have been a passion of mine for many years and after the birth of my son in 1999, I realized that I could stay home with him by creating an herbal home based business. I began making herbal tooth powder and a few tinctures at the request of a small health food store owner. Soon after I was making eighty different tinctures and many more tincture blends, medicinal vinegars, herbal teas, salves and massage oils. In 2000 I trained to be a doula and began making products specific to the childbearing year. I went on to become a midwife as well and continue to offer herbs to my clients as well as other midwives, doulas, childbirth educators and anyone serving women in the childbearing year.

All of our fresh and dried herbs are grown in accordance with organic standards (or better), although at this time, our farm is not certified organic. We have chosen not to get certified because the majority of our business is local and in our small community, our community members know what we are up to and trust that we are growing our herbs with the highest intentions of a safe and peaceful world for generations to come.

Some of our herbs are wildcrafted. We wildcraft with respect to the plants and consideration of protecting the future generations and ecosystems. The alcohol used in our tinctures is certified organic grain alcohol (made with certified organic corn) or certified organic grape alcohol. Each herb has a different ratio of alcohol and distilled water, depending on the constituents of the plant. A few tinctures contain some organic, raw apple cider vinegar and a few contain glycerine.

We believe not only in health for humans but for the health of our communities, ecosystems and our planet. Our products are made with intention. Intention to increase health, happiness and community on a healthy planet.
