Mother Bloom Botanicals is located on the Blue Hill Peninsula in Maine. Herbs have been a passion of mine for many years and after the birth of my son in 1999, I realized that I could stay home with my son by creating an herbal home based business. I began making herbal tooth powder and a few tinctures at the request of a small health food store owner. Soon after I was making eighty different tinctures and many more tincture blends, medicinal vinegars, herbal teas, salves and massage oils. I also trained to be a Doula and began making products specific to the childbearing year.

When I first began, most of the herbs I used in the products were from a local, organic grower and wildcrafter. But we soon moved to an eight acre farm in the Pacific Northwest and I began growing about 75% of the the herbs that I used on our certified organic, horse drawn herb farm.

My son is now growing up, I have a daughter too. I am a Midwife as well. My family and my business is now located on the beautiful Blue Hill Peninsula in Maine. Mother Bloom Botanicals remains a growing business with very high quality standards.

All fresh and dried herbs are grown in accordance with organic standards (or better), though many are not certified. Others are wildcrafted with respect to the plants and consideration of protecting the future generations and ecosystems. The alcohol used in the tinctures is certified organic grain alcohol (made with certified organic corn). Each herb has a different ratio of alcohol and distilled water, depending on the constituents of the plant. A few tinctures contain some organic, raw apple cider vinegar and a few contain glycerine.

We believe not only in health for humans but for the health of our communities and our planet. Our products are made with intention. Intention to increase health, happiness and community on a healthy planet.
